Open Payments Database Notice
For informational purposes only, a link to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Open Payments web page is provided here (opens the CMS Open Payments database in a new tab). The federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act requires that detailed information about payment and other payments of value worth over ten dollars ($10) from manufacturers of drugs, medical devices, and biologics to physicians and teaching hospitals be made available to the public.
About the Open Payments database
The Open Payments database is a national program operated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). It makes public certain financial relationships between drug and device manufacturers and physicians and teaching hospitals. You can search the database at the CMS link above.
The requirement for physicians to post this notice on their websites comes from the Medical Board of California. You can read more on the Medical Board of California's official page:
What this page does and does not do
This page provides public information for website visitors. It does not replace notices that may need to be provided to patients directly during care, and it is not a substitute for any notice a provider is required to deliver, post in a physical location, or document in a patient's record.
